Confirmed Lecturer at Cambridge Security Initiative's ISI Professional Programme

6 Apr 2026

Lecture series takes place in April

Political risk advisor Mark Logan will deliver lectures at the International Security and Intelligence Professional (ISI Pro) Programme at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, this April.

The ISI Pro programme, chaired by Sir Richard Dearlove, former Chief of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), runs from 7–17 April 2026 and brings together mid- to senior-level professionals from government, the military, intelligence, business, and academia to examine critical global security challenges.

Logan brings deep expertise in East Asian geopolitics, with a particular focus on China, Japan, and UK security and defence policy. A former Member of Parliament and former Vice-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary China Group, he offers a rare combination of frontline political experience and specialist regional knowledge at a time when great power competition in the Indo-Pacific dominates the international security agenda.

His participation adds to a distinguished roster of former intelligence officials, policymakers, and leading academics contributing to the programme. ISI Pro is convened by Dr David Gioe, a former CIA officer and Visiting Professor in the Department of War Studies at King's College London, and covers topics ranging from intelligence in statecraft and cyber warfare to counter-terrorism, emerging technologies, and regional crises including those involving Russia and China.

Now in its second year, the ISI Pro programme is organised by the Cambridge Security Initiative, a registered charity with longstanding ties to the UK's intelligence and security communities.
