Economic dialogue comes at inflexion point in bilateral relations
Mark Logan, political risk advisor and former politician, attended the 8th China-UK Economic and Trade Forum, hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom (CCCUK) at a pivotal moment in bilateral relations between the two countries.
The high-profile event drew over 400 guests from across the business, diplomatic and political communities, reflecting the growing significance of the China-UK economic relationship.
Among the distinguished attendees were Chinese Ambassador to the UK Zheng Zeguang, Economic Secretary to the Treasury Lucy Rigby MP, Lady Mayor of the City of London Susan Langley, and CCCUK Chairman Fang Wenjian.
Logan said the forum came at an important inflection point in UK-China relations. "Events like this matter precisely because the relationship between our two countries is entering a critical new phase," he noted. "The breadth of representation here, from diplomacy, government and business, signals that serious people on both sides understand what is at stake."
Drawing on his background as a former elected politician, foreign office employee and a political risk advisor, Logan engaged with senior figures across the public and private sectors throughout the event, examining how shifting geopolitical dynamics are reshaping the economic ties between the UK and China.
The forum, now in its eighth year, continues to serve as one of the most prominent platforms for dialogue between Chinese and British business and political leaders.
