The Japanese Embassy in the UK’s Political Minister, Mr Tsuji, has just completed his role here.
During his time overseeing political engagement at the Japanese Embassy, the UK and Japan’s bilateral ties have grown in depth and impact.
Japan’s Prime Minister Kishida hosted the UK as part of the G7 in 2023, and earlier in the year PM Kishida paid a visit to then British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Commenting on Minister Tsuji’s imminent departure, Mark Logan said:
I value the work I’ve been able to do with Minister Tsuji during his time in the UK. This has included frequent interactions through my role as Vice-Chair on the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Japan, recent senior political visits from Japan to the UK, and earlier in 2024 having the great privilege to attend the UK-Japan 21st Century Leadership forum in Odawara when we had a dialogue with Prime Minister Kishida and other friends from the Japanese political, commercial and academic world. Minister Tsuji played a central role in all of these activities.
Minister Tsuji will now take on the important role of Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Syria. Mark wishes him and his family all the very best.
