Former MP joins prestigious mentorship scheme to guide next generation of political leaders

Mark has recently been appointed as an advisor and mentor for the prestigious King's College London Politics Society Mentorship Scheme, where he will guide aspiring political science students through their academic and professional development. The scheme, which received a record number of applications this year, pairs distinguished professionals with ambitious undergraduates seeking expertise in their chosen fields.

Mark will commence by mentoring a Politics student who has already demonstrated leadership through several roles including gaining practical experience working with their Member of Parliament. The competitive selection process reflects the high calibre of students participating in this influential program.

"During my time in Parliament it became apparent to me that KCL is fast becoming a leader at home and globally when it comes to political science, and my area of expertise in East Asia. Thus I truly cherish this opportunity to engage with the next generation of brains that will guide us in these areas," Mark commented on his appointment.

Through this mentorship, he will provide invaluable insights from his parliamentary experience, offering one-on-one guidance to help shape future political leaders and contribute to the development of emerging talent in political science.
