The beginning of 2026 sees a packed schedule of UK-China events
Two influential figures in UK-China relations found themselves in conversation, as former Member of Parliament Mark Logan and China's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Zheng Zeguang, crossed paths on the side-lines of two Chinese New Year events - the 30th Anniversary of Orchids at Kew Gardens and the China Britain Business Council (CBBC) and 48 Group's annual Chinese New Year Celebration.
The meetings provided an opportunity for Logan to strengthen bilateral ties between the UK and China at a significant moment in the two countries' relationship.
Logan said: "British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has just been to China where he met with President Xi Jinping and other Chinese politicians, setting a new tone for business and people-to-people links between our two proud nations."
Ambassador Zheng Zeguang has served as China's top diplomat in London since 2021, playing a central role in managing Sino-British relations across trade, culture, and diplomacy.
Mark Logan is a former MP and Vice-Chair of the UK's Parliamentary China Group and is a geopolitical risk advisor.
The China Britain Business Council, founded in 1954, is the leading organisation supporting British businesses seeking to trade and invest in China.
